STAND WITH SCIENTISTS FIGHTING ADANI'S CARMICHAEL COAL MINE

Despite the overwhelming evidence that fossil fuels are killing the Great Barrier Reef and making many extreme weather events worse; despite the emphatic thumbs-down from the finance sector; and despite the growing awareness of the serious health impacts of coal, the proposed Carmichael coal mine staggers on, zombie-like, amid reports it has been offered a deferment of A$320 million in royalty payments.

HELP SCIENTISTS TO STOP THE RISKY CARMICHAEL COAL MINE 2

Adani’s Carmichael coal mine is fundamentally at odds with protecting the Great Barrier Reef from climate change. It’s also an incredibly risky financial investment with a false promise of jobs. Yet politicians have pledged $1 billion in public funding to the project. We’re a group of Australian scientists & citizens calling for no public funding for Adani’s mine.

Dear Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Minister For Northern Australia Matthew Canavan,

I urge you to consider the insurmountable economic, health, and climate risks posed by the Carmichael coal mine and withdraw all Government support and funding immediately.
