SLAM THE BRAKES: Strengthen the Pollution Speed Limit

The Climate Council is calling for Australia’s 10 biggest corporate polluters to publicly pledge to cut their emissions in absolute terms by 2030 under a reformed Safeguard Mechanism - also known as the Pollution Speed Limit.

The Australian Government says it wants to introduce legislation to set up the new Safeguard Mechanism scheme before the end of the year, so we don’t have long to get this right.

The time for pollution-as-usual is over. Please join us in taking action today so that Australia’s biggest polluters don’t get to write their own road rules.
